A brief history of Asia Cup Bridge Championships which started on 2010 in China. This year it will be the 5th Edition of the event.
This was the inaugural edition of this prestigious continental event. This championship marks an important step in uniting the Asian Bridge community and celebrating excellence, sportsmanship, and international camaraderie.
This was the 2nd edition of the prestigious championship, after it's successfull inaugural event, China hosted the 2nd edition where all top bridge playing countries in Asia including world champion in pairs event China, Japan, Indonesia, Chinese Taipe, Pakistan, Bangladesh along with Australia and New Zealand took part in this tournament.
India hosted the 3rd Asia Cup International Bridge Championship which was held in Goa from June 4 to 10,2018 at Goa Marriott Resort and Spa. The championship was contested in five categories namely men, women, mixed, super-mixed and senior. The countries participated were Australia, Bangladesh, China, China β Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Singapore and Thailand along with invited team of players from Sri Lanka and host country India.
The Championship was inaugurated by the former President of the World Bridge Federation Late Gianarrigo Rona in the presence of the World Bridge Federation Zone 4 and Zone 6 Presidents, namely Ashok Goel from the Bridge Federation of Asia & Middle East (BFAME) and Khunying Esther Chodchoy Sophonpanich of the Asia Pacific Bridge Federation (APBF).
Indonesia hosted the 4th Asia Cup International Bridge Championship which was held in Jakarta, Indonesia from October 19 to 25,2022 at Sultan Hotel. The championship was contested in four categories namely men, women, mixed, and senior.
